Left & Right Daytime Running Lamp Fault

My E92 M3 BMW with white and yellow daytime running lamp/light.

I've bought an after market lamps to replace my yellow daytime running light on my BMW 2013 E92 M3. Happy for almost 2 months when suddenly my M3 gave fault and the light completely dead. Replace it back with original bulbs but still not working.

I've read in few forums as well as watched Youtube videos that if the footwell module FRM detect short-circuit in any of the wirings, after 50 cycle the FRM will shut the power suply to the respective circuit so i guess my FRM does it job well if the after market bulbs mot compatible with the car.

In one of the video i've watched, the guy said i can reset it with toolset32 software (even though he explanation for 320d reverse light which will work for daytime running light too but i'm too lazy to download and spend time to do it so I decided to go to few workshop in Musaffah to ask around.

First shop i went, the mechanic said he can reset the FRM but he afraid that it will make other function such as doors, windows etc will not work as usual so I don't want to take any risk with him. Went to second shop, the shop that claim as an expert on German cars. Have my cars brought in to their garage, told me that they need about 1 hour to check so I reluctantly want to proceed with them but they said they will try to make it less than 1 hour.

After 15 minutes the service coordinator told me that they will charge me minimum 600 dirham (USD163) for deep diagnostic and 1000 dirham (USD272) to fix the fault. I have a look in ebay and found that the FRM module was around USD114 so i said just return back my car.

Later i went to Butterfly Car Care, newly open workshop by a guy who have work with Abu Dhabi BMW dealership for 16 years and using ISTA software he reset the fault on my FRM and the light works again. Charge me for 50 dirham (USD14) and I thankfully add another 50 dirham to it for his service.

So as i said in my previous post that you don't need deep pocket to drive great BMW car, just need to make extra effort and source around for best workshop that can help you fix any problem at minimum cost.
